South Omaha residents have not been well represented in the legislature over the years. We pay more for gasoline and groceries than the average Nebraskan, and we get less in road quality and state services. As the only elected representative of our community running, Christopher Moles needs your support to change Lincoln. Over the next 4 years, the Legislature will take up numerous issues that directly affect us. These are Christopher's stances - clear and unequivocal.
LOBBYIST INFLUENCE
As a candidate, I will not accept any lobbyist donations. Lobbyists buy and control members of the Nebraska legislature. In turn, incumbents vote to increase taxes and refuse to cut spending. See the recent gas tax hike. I will not allow lobbyists and Political Action Committees to buy my vote. This Senate seat belongs to south Omaha. I am the only candidate that will be free from lobbyist influence when elected.
ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
I will fight illegal immigration. Illegal Immigration is bad for the economy, it increases state spending, and it is against the law. I oppose the plan to use taxpayer money to discount college tuition for illegal immigrants and I do not believe illegal immigrants should have driver's licenses. When elected, I will defend our immigration laws.
PROPERTY TAXES
I will limit the government's ability to raise your property taxes. Our property taxes are artificially high because the procedure for collecting property taxes in Nebraska is backward and outdated. However, politicians use our property tax system to fund pet projects that are otherwise fiscally irresponsible. See the new downtown ballpark project. As such, political insiders do not want to change our property tax system. Instead, they want to send a one-time check to each homeowner. This increase in spending will force the state to raise our taxes and it will not solve the problem. My plan will cost the state nothing and it will permanently stabilize our property taxes.
